Hi, I'm Emma!

Coming from a graphic design background, I enjoy working with typography and creating memorable layouts. My illustrations are done by hand, usually inked and painted using watercolour. However I do quite a bit of editing and final touches digitally. The topic that inspires me most at the moment is how we all create our sense of home. My great fascination with architecture has led me to sketch a variety of buildings in different corners of the world - ­many of them represent home to someone. It can be ­small things that give us a feeling of comfort and a sense of home. With my ­illustrations I want to highlight those small things. In 2020 I came across Rachel E Millar's work and discovered the art of Sign Painting: the traditional hand craft of painting lettering on shop fronts, signs and murals. I've had the opportunity to learn from her and accompany her on jobs in 2022 and 2024. Currently I'm developing my skills and am open for any projects or collaborations in this area!
